So here’s the low down on framing. You’ve bought a painting directly from an artist, and it’s not framed. And you wonder, do I have to frame it? Well, the answer is … it’s a personal choice. That’s it! Some people like to frame … others don’t. Either way, it’s ok.
If you think your painting already looks great without one … brilliant!
- You’ve saved yourself a bit of money
- You’re in vogue with the current trend to go frameless
- And … not framing can have a powerful impact and a contemporary look

If however, you decide you do want to frame, here are some things
to keep in mind:
A good framer:
- considers the best proportion, colour and style for you and your home or office.
- will choose a frame that compliments the artwork without competing with it.
- knows that with the right frame … the artwork will shine. And that’s what you want!
Note: Smaller jewel-sized paintings can be dramatically enhanced by a great frame … giving them the importance and presence they warrant. Hopefully you’re investing in paintings that you love and warrant the attention.
